Sig Sauer M400

Postby shaggy » 15 Feb 2012 21:44

Picked up a new toy today.

Sig M400
Aimpoint PRO optic

I went ahead and dropped a CMC trigger into her.

Im gonna put a new stock and hand guard on her, and thats it.

Im thinking Magpul MOE stock and Troy handguard.

Oh, and an Ergo grip. Mandatory.

(Pic taken during mock up to see where I wanted the Aimpoint... Was not mounted that way for long)
Hard pressed on my right. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuver. Situation excellent. I am attacking. --Ferdinand Foch

I like it. I shot the same trigger in my last Ar10.

Ive switched over to a flat Timney for my new SAS build too.

This is what I use... stronger mounting than the troy, awesome feel.

I like that rail a lot. I ended up ordering a Daniel Defense rail for it, along with a Blackhawk oversized trigger guard, Ergo grip, and a few other things.

Last thing she needs is a new stock. Still looking around for that...

So, Im slacking... I havent done an actual range report on her.

Ive shot her quite a bit since I got the build completed.

Added:
DD Carbine length rail
ARMS Rear BUIS
Spec Ops SP sling (dunno the model)
heavy spring
heavy buffer
ERGO grip
BH Enhanced Trigger Guard

I like the hell out of her. She came out of the box shooting fast. The heavy buffer and spring slowed her down a bit, so that theres no chance of @#$% ups. She also slams into battery now. The forward assist will be the least used part of her, for sure.

I'll get a range report up shortly.

Also, will do one on the Aimpoint PRO. Im liking that optic. Especially for the price point on them.

Why do you like that one so much Sako?

Daniel Defense isnt a company to scoff at. Never heard someone say they went wrong with a DD...

Rest up and don't sweat the realty issues yet
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:28
That's a plan... well time to see if sleeping beauty has left any room in the bed
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:28
well; not gonna allow some TSA asshole to grope or photo me; so flying is out; until i win the lotte and have my own plane
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:27
I can't travel without them, too easy and smarter in my opinion
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:26
if i had any sense, i'd fly to Austin; but just can't submit to those flying sardine cans

Allow sufficient time, never rush, and take breaks to refresh the mind and the eyes along the way
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:25
wow, am still tired from yesterday travel; am gonna be wrecked driving to see Wil next month
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:24
granted, there is a method to use the fine duplex to range; but it's a lot more trouble
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:23
It is more important, the reticle type... in that I agree
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:23
but i like having moa dot reticles; this leupy is a fine duplex
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:22
If you use a 20 MOA base they do
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:22
but a 1" leupy won't have the range to shoot long range
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:21
You like your toys more than I do... I like my Leupolds enough to keep them
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:21
am gonna replace that 1" leupy scope with a PST 4-16 tube
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:20
The 6 XC project should give me 62 gr Bergers at around 3800 ft/secs
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:20
So it sort of matches the flatness of the 22/250
308sako - 26 May 2013 00:19
It could shoot a Nosler 55 grain BT well over 4K ft/secs
texgal338 - 26 May 2013 00:19
am in no hurry, can discuss it
